Who is responsible
noteself is made by Ömer Akyürek. Contact details are in the imprint. For anything about your data, write to support@noteself.co.
The short version
- Your notes are sent only to email addresses you confirm.
- noteself sends your notes to your own email inbox. To do that it needs your email address and the text of the note.
- There is no advertising, no tracking and no analytics in the app.
- We do not sell your data and do not share it for marketing.
What the app processes
- Your email address. You confirm it with a code we email to you. We use it to deliver your notes and to count your sends.
- Sign in with Apple or Google. If you choose one of them, we receive the email address and an account identifier from Apple or Google. We do not receive your password.
- Your notes. A note is sent by email from our server to the inboxes you confirmed. With Pro and sync turned on, your history (note text, time, recipients) is stored on our server so you see it on every device you sign in on.
- On your device. Settings, confirmed inboxes, your history and notes waiting to be sent are stored in the app on your iPhone.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are bought and billed through Apple. We receive the status of your subscription, not your payment details.
The app does not use your camera, photos, microphone, contacts or location.
Service providers
- Supabase (database and server functions), hosted in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Resend (sending emails), EU region.
- RevenueCat (subscription status).
- Apple (App Store, purchases, Sign in with Apple) and Google (Sign in with Google), only if you use them.
They process data on our behalf and only for the purposes above.
Legal basis
We process your data to provide the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, for keeping the service secure and working, on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
How long we keep it
We keep your data as long as you have an account. When you choose Delete Account in the app’s settings, your account, your confirmed address and your synced data are deleted. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it separately in Apple Account settings.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, its correction or deletion, a restriction of processing, and a copy in a portable format, and you can object to processing (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). You can also complain to a data protection authority.
This website
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics. When you open it, our hosting provider Vercel processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the page.
